A British kestrel sculpture in wool, alpaca, silk and mohair, filled with carded sheep's wool. His eyes are black glass beads with yellow needle-felted irises, and he has further needle-felt detailing around his beak and face. His wings and tail are strengthened with wire to help them hold their shape and his embroidery thread-wrapped wire legs and claws are gently poseable. He carries a uniquely numbered metal leg ring on one leg which signs and authenticates him.

He is about half life-size, standing 13.5cm tall and is 23cm long from beak to tail tip.

He is mounted on a hand-cut section of sanded and waxed grapevine branch (similar to the one in the picture). Please note that due to the natural variation in grapevine branches, the shape and appearance of the branch will differ from that shown in the listing.

I make each bird individually, which currently takes 2-3 weeks. However, if your need is more urgent please contact me, as I may be able to help. If you would like to see your bird before I send him to you, let me know by email and I will be happy to send you a photo.
