A watchful barn owl, crocheted from a rich blend of luxury merino, alpaca, mohair and hand-dyed linen and silk yarns.

The most complex and richly detailed bird I make, his wing and tail feathers are individually hand-crafted and carefully positioned to create his life-like pose. The intricate contours of his face are finely sculpted, through hours of needle-felting, from soft merino wool.

He stands on sturdy, yarn-wrapped, wire-armature legs, and is filled with carded sheep’s wool. He bears an identity ring on one leg to authenticate him.

Almost life-sized, he stands 26 cm tall and is 31cm from beak to tail (11.5” x 12”).
